Southern Living House Plans Cottage

Hawthorne Cottage is a simple yet quaint, T-shaped plan that includes an inviting front porch and all the other necessities you need for a true Southern getaway. One of the most endearing attributes of this residence is the tasteful vaulted great room. High windows let in natural daylight, paired with exposed beam-work, allowing the great room to feel large and inviting for guests. The screen porch is a large secondary living room that takes advantage of the nice weather and beautiful views. This plan is perfect for those who want to downsize, but need a modest home to enjoy summers and weekends and get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Magnolia Cottage House Plan By John Tee For Southern Living!

Loblolly Cottage is a stunning floor plan boasting beautiful views from every room in the home. The open concept kitchen/dining opens into a spacious great room that wraps around the porch. A double fireplace gives its owners the flexibility to enjoy the sound, smell and warmth of an open fire no matter the weather. Details such as alternate lap siding and architectural brackets are some of the many details that make this cottage unique. Main floor also has master suite, office, laundry room and half bath. Upstairs you will find two additional bedrooms and two full bathrooms with lush views. This plan is ideal for infill lots and expansive properties with spectacular views.

Alder Cottage is the perfect home for entertaining guests. Large kitchen opens to a spacious great room with a bar that leads to the screened back porch. This enviable kitchen includes a large pass through pantry. The first floor offers a spacious master suite and a second guest suite or mother-in-law suite. The second floor has two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a comfortable sitting area and a bench nook up the stairs perfect for built-in storage.

Evergreen Cottage has a simple floor plan leading to beautiful porches perfect for entertaining with guests. Master suite includes separate partner closets, double vanity, free standing tub and custom shower. The upper floor consists of two bedrooms, a bunk hall and a loft with a terrace perfect for children and their friends.

Walnut Cottage is stunning from every angle, with porches bordering the open-concept living and dining room, equipped with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. The spacious lower level has a laundry and mudroom as well as a butler’s pantry just off the kitchen. Master suite features walk-in closet, window seat, en-suite with custom shower, freestanding tub and double vanity. Upstairs, four additional bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a sleeping hall and a gallery do not disappoint.

I love how this plan keeps the master suite private and on one side of the house while the other two bedrooms are on opposite sides. The living spaces are located in the center of this house. Good size family room and open dining/kitchen area.

Best House Plans For Cottage Lovers House Plans

Great storage space in this plan, walk in closet in the master and a pantry in the kitchen! I also love that the washer and dryer are located outside the master bedroom! This is a great plan or great first floor with option for second floor space (see optional staircase). It’s good to have options! It’s got great curb appeal and an amazing outdoor living space!
