Foundation Plan: Foundation page dimensions, concrete walls, foundations, pads, columns, beams, load bearing walls and any stepped foundation information and any retaining wall information (schematic only). This page also usually includes a typical home wall section (if not, it’s elsewhere in your plan set, if space allows). If your plan features a poured concrete slab rather than a basement or crawl space, the Foundations page shows the slab’s foundation and details, including pipe locations.

Floor plans include electrical legends and show electrical fittings, lights and sockets. Includes cabinet elevations for kitchens and bathrooms; some designs also feature cabinet heights with design-related built-ins.
Architectural Sections: Architectural sections show changes in floor, ceiling, or roof height, and the relationship of one floor to another. Some of our pages also show how the stairs are calculated (if any!) and depict the roof and foundation members. We try to draw sections to show the most useful information – choose the location of elements that you or your contractor may need to clarify.
Roof Plan: Displays roof framing or truss orientation, indicates slope direction, and, where applicable, determines the dimensioning and dimensioning of structural members. Indicates the gravity loads used to calculate rafters, beams and columns, and we also display gutters, downspouts and any roof ventilation your home needs.

Notes and Details Pages: Your home is detailed to meet the requirements of the latest adopted version of the International Residential Code, our Notes and Details pages outline all elements applicable to your home design. Depending on your building department’s requirements, compliance with further standards may need to be incorporated into your program set – these are usually done locally.

Most concrete block (CMU) homes have 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 exterior walls on 2 levels. If you like Barndominium style homes, Arlington Heights will quickly become your favorite. The exterior showcases dark board and slatted siding, wood trim and a wood garage door. A large wraparound porch welcomes guests into the beautiful home.
A step through the front set of French doors at the Barndominium leads guests into the entrance and great room. Great room under 2 ceilings, fireplace flanked by built-in benches with drawers for heating. The kitchen includes a large island with a snack bar, a walk-in pantry and plenty of counter space.
