Note: Mirror reverse set is only available with 5 copy or 8 copy set. With a reproducible, PDF, or CAD set, you can print mirrored copies locally. Additionally: 5 copy sets selected, only 4 mirrored sets should be allowed to be selected. 8 copy sets are selected, only 7 mirrored sets should be allowed to be selected.

You may also need to size beams to accommodate specific roof loads for your area. Your home builder can usually help you with this. You may also need a septic design unless your lot is served by a sanitary sewer system. Many areas now have area-specific energy codes that must also be followed. This usually involves filling out a simple form providing documentation that your home complies with the plans.
In some areas, you need to take a second step to make sure your house plans comply with local codes. Some areas of North America have very strict engineering requirements. Examples would be, but are not limited to, the earthquake-prone areas of California and the Pacific coast, the hurricane-prone areas of Florida, the Gulf and Carolina coasts. New York, New Jersey, Nevada and parts of Illinois also require reviews by local professionals. If you are building in this area, you will likely need to hire a state licensed structural engineer to analyze the design and provide additional drawings and calculations required by your building department. If you’re unsure, the building department usually has a handout listing all the items you need to submit and obtain a building permit.
Additionally, stock plans do not have a professional stamp attached. If your building department requires one, they will only accept a stamp from a licensed professional in the state where you plan to build. In this case, you should take your house plans to a local engineer or architect for review and stamping. Also, plans used to build homes in Nevada must be drawn by a licensed Nevada architect.
